Lone Working Awareness Training

Who is it for?
This course raises awareness of the dangers associated with working alone and the practical steps that can be taken to minimise and control the risks that it presents. The course covers why your need to know about working alone, what lone working is, applicable legislation, the key responsibilities of employers and employees, the main hazards, assessing the risk and safe working arrangements.

4 x hours (1/2 day)
 
Course Content:
· Statistics
· Legislation—Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
Management of Health & Safety at Work Regs 1999
· Risk assessment—practical activity
· Hazards associated with lone working
· Practical controls
· Emergency planning
 
Outcome:
At the end of the course successful delegates will be able to:
 
· Understand the principles of lone working
· Understand the importance of risk assessments
· Responsibilities of employer and employee
· Understand the importance of following procedures and rules
 
Assessment:
Assessment is via a short test/quiz.
